First impression when I met Caleb: This guy is whack.  (AS MADE OBVIOUS BY THIS PICTURE HOLY CRAP)

And now that I have known Caleb for 2-3 years (more or less), I am very happy to report that nothing has changed.  I am still awesome.  And Caleb is still whack.  The world is normal.   

Anyways…

Caleb, Caleb, Caleb.  Where do I begin?  I guess I can start by telling about how I got p’wned at retreat one time by Caleb.  My dad came to do sound at a retreat we had for PC (it was awhile ago, maybe you guys remember the RETREAT FROM HELL with frozen toilet piping, freezing cold weather, and Sam screaming into a microphone for 2 hours…)  Anyways, at that retreat, my dad was setting up sound.  And as we were “sound testing” Caleb started singing into the mic.  My dad was soo taken aback by his voice that all that came out of his mouth was the word ”BEAUTIFUL!”  Then afterwards, it was my turn to sing.  *sob*.  There was definitely no ”beautiful” for me .  As a matter of fact, the only thing I hear from my dad is “are there enough effects on your mic?” 

Hahahaha.  “No Other Voice like Caleb’s”.  Join that facebook group NOW.  Because it is true.  There have been many a nights where I have been serenaded in private (at the apartment) with that beautiful voice (eat your heart out girls!).  I have fallen asleep to it.  One more reason to marry Caleb (if there isn’t enough already!) is that he will sing to you until you fall asleep under the spell of his beautiful melody…

Living with him for over a year now, I couldn’t help but be attracted to him (and no, not in the same way I am attracted to Thomas) because he’s so freaking muh she suh (for those who are korean illiterate, this means AWESOME).  I think I speak for all of us when I say this-there is some quality about him that makes him so freaking damn attractive, that you just can’t help but want to talk to him.  I know many of you girls reading this know EXACTLY what I’m talking about (haha)…apart from his singing, good looks, athleticism, guitar skills, writing skills, public speaking skills, height (SOB), kind heart, loving personality, intelligence…actually apart from all that, there’s pretty much nothing else…  :p.

Sure in his pictures he looks like a 5 year old boy…not very different from Ian…

But when you meet this guy in person, there’s something just so dynamic and powerful about his ambiance and personality.  He is a man who commands attention everywhere that he goes, and seriously it is no wonder so many girls have fallen for him.  If I were a girl I’d probably fall for Thomas…but Caleb, you come in as a close second, I promise.  (damn is this a post about Thomas or Caleb?  I am not so sure anymore…Thomas…I miss you…and you still owe me 3 seconds…)  HAHAHA.

Okay okay.  All Kidding Aside.  Honestly, Caleb.  You are an inspiration to me.  You are an inspiration to many.  (I was so tempted to throw in another girl joke here but I didn’t).  You have one of the most beautiful hearts in a guy that I have ever met, and you know what it means to truly love and be considerate of others.  You have compassion for those who are hurting, and you’re always more than willing to bend over backwards in order to help anyone in need.  You’re willing to sacrifice in literally a moment’s notice any commitments that you have made if you know that someone is in need…And bro, that’s a rare quality. 

I remember one of the first things you did that REALLY jumped out at me.  We went to Hurry Curry to eat, and there was this homeless woman outside, definitely hungry and definitely cold.  Not only did you offer to buy her some food (which you did), but you literally took the sweater you were wearing that night off your back and gave it to her.  Who does that?  Not very many people I know.  That’s love man.  That’s being a witness to His love, and it’s seriously beautiful.  That jacket was hella expensive too.  I remember I was thinking…WTH ARE YOU DOING?  GIVE IT TO ME, NOT HER!!!  hahaha.  Oh boy, do I feel like a selfish spoiled little man when I’m around you.  It challenges me.

All this however almost pales in comparison to your ability to listen.  You listen so well.  I know this…I hear you talking to girls on the phone all the time (I COULDN’T RESIST!).  But seriously, girls or guys, you don’t discriminate…you hear people not just for what they say but what’s in their heart.  And every time you open your mouth to speak, it’s quality stuff.  You don’t waste your words, ever.  I know you always say that Josh, Jaeson, or I are “men you would follow”.  But dude…You are the true leader, and I would seriously trust you with my life.  I’d be your armor bearer in a second. 

For everything you’ve ever done for me, and for all that you’ve sacrificed for the PC community, we seriously appreciate you soo much on this day.  And so I just want to say thanks.  Thanks for everything, and seriously you’re one of those guys that I know I’m going to keep close by for the rest of my life.  Even when I am old and married.  (If that day ever comes).  Hopefully the day comes for you too (which knowing you it may not…), and I pray that your wife is as beautiful inside and out as you, bro.

Happy Birthday, Caleb Lin.  You’re truly a man after God’s own heart, and the best leader I’ve ever known.
